Kappa
Chapter History (Revival - 1985)
The Kappa chapter was
organized in 1977, however the chapter became
inactive during the 1980's.
When a newly survived ALTHONIANS from the Alpha
Omicron chapter (MSU-IIT, Iligan City) had
arrived in Kappa chapter in May 1985, there was no
other ALTHONIANS in the campus. Longing for
his happy experiences while at the Alpha Omicron
chapter, the Kappa chapter was revived by Brod
Fernan Adem on October 6, 1985 with
the help of a newly acquainted brod from Cebu
Capitol College, Brod Noel Balucan of Cotabato
City.
The pioneering batch (HEXAGONIAN) was consisted of
six (6) members. Brod Fernan then was elected
as the first Supreme Grand Altho (SGA) of the newly
revived Kappa chapter.
Fraternities/Sororities were not recognized by the
CIT administration but under the leadership of Brod
Fernan, a wall clock with an Alpha Theta Omega
markings was donated to and accepted by the CIT
administration in 1986 and this was displayed at the
Student Affairs Office. After few years, the
same wall clock was transferred to the office of the
Asst. Vice-President of the CIT.
Not long after the Kappa chapter was revived, the
other inactive chapters of Cebu City were revived
through the initiative and leadership of the
products of the revived Kappa chapter. The
ALTHONIANS of Cebu City campuses become active in
helping among members, promoting self discipline,
moulding to become leaders and providing services to
others.
